Qld Racehorse Owners Association

Q. Whatthe is the Q.R.O.A?

A. The Queensland Racehorse Owners Association has been in operation for about the last 20 years. As well as offering many benefits to owners, it also acts as a ˇ§power by numbersˇ¨ group to continually try and achieve a better deal for the owners (people like you). Its current President is Wayne Milner, who I have known for many years, and I couldnˇ¦t think of a better man for the job.

Some of the benefits of being a member of Q.R.O.A are as follows:

„h Free gate entry into any race meeting at Doomben (including carnivals), and they are currently negotiating with other clubs for same.
„h Exclusive entry to the Owners and Trainers Bar at Doomben and Eagle Farm.
„h Discounts at Greg Grant Saddlery
„h Discounts from Racetrack Photography.
„h Reduced rates on Bloodstock Insurance from Fitton Insurance.
„h Invitations to Social Functions.
„h Quarterly Newsletter.
„h Discounts accommodation deals at places Like the Marriot Hotel.

A couple of times each year at the various racing venues, the Association sets up a marquee right on the track and invites all its members to come along to enjoy the private and exclusive area. I attended the recent function they had at Doomben, and along with the owners of My Son Day and a few of the other owners who were at the track on the day, we had a most enjoyable time. A private bar and tote and some very impressive food platters, being the highlight.

Membership costs are $45 single and $66 joint, and they have a special package deal, which includes a Racing Calender subscription. For more information on the Q.R.O.A please give Kerrie McVeigh a call at the office on 3869 9704.
